Samuel Bates Carson

Samuel Bates Carson, 78, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at North MS Medical Center Hospice after a short illness. He was born on January 17, 1941, in Plantersville to Louis Fletcher and Mable Young Carson. Samuel had lived most all of his life in Lee County, was a graduate of Nettleton High School & attended I.C.C. in Fulton, was a retired supervisor and designer in the furniture industry, & was a Baptist. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitars, doing remodeling, & camping. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Catherine Vaughn Carson of Tupelo; one daughter, Lesonya Whitehead of Tupelo; two sons, Phil Carson (Kim) of Aberdeen and Ken Carson of Booneville; one stepson, Mike Causey (Patti) of Nettleton; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy and Tommy Carson.
