Stephen Dale Pruitt, 63, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 as the result of an automobile accident in Monroe County. He was born on March 11, 1957 in Aberdeen to Ralph Wayne and Helen Ann Dodd Pruitt. He attended Aberdeen High School and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1976. He enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard that began a 24 year career in the military, retiring as Captain. After his retirement, he worked as a machinist and he was known as a handyman who could build anything. Dale was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. His pride was his family and to spend time with them especially his grandson, Brody.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery with Bro. James Clardy officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
Survivors include his son, Casey Pruitt (Kayla) of Hamilton; two brothers, Lamar Pruitt (Tiffany) and Wayne Pruitt both of Aberdeen; his grandson, Brody Pruitt; and a nephew, Justin Pruitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
