AMORY - Services for Joe T. Wigton, 74,
who died Monday, February 22nd at North Mississippi Medical Center
in Tupelo, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 25th at Jones
Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Bill Payne and Bill Monaghan
officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Wigton was born in Blytheville, Arkansas to Eldridge and Annie Mae
Dhority Wigton. He had lived in Rockford, Illinois for thirty years
before moving to Amory nineteen years ago. He was a retired machinst
for Guinte Corporation in Illinois, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a
member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing
and watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball.
He leaves his wife, Patricia A. Ramey Wigton of Amory; a daughter, Janice
Borne (Earl) of Port Allen, Louisiana; four sons, Travis D. Wigton
and Jason Wigton (Maria), all of Rockford, Illinois, Brian Wigton
(Nancy) of Loves Park, Illinois, and Kevin Wigton (Corniella) of
Winnebago, Illinois; a sister, Donna Duncan (Glen) of Blytheville;
three brothers, Darrel Wigton of Blytheville, Monroe Wigton (Bobbie)
of Newbern, Tennessee and Charles Wigton (Verda) of Winnebago,
Illinois; three grandchildren, Angela Borne, Noah Wigton and Kayla
Wigton; two great grandchildren, Dillion and Brandon Borne. He
was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Wigton, and two
sisters.
Pallbearers are J.R. Zepeda, David George, Bill Wong, Bobby Johnson,
Bobby Hendrix, and James Miller.
Visitation will take from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24th,
at the church.
